Tyler Glasses is a 7th generation weaver. He resides on his family’s land in North East Arizona. After moving back to the Navajo reservation he started to learn the art of weaving from his late Nalii Adzaan (paternal grandmother.) Today, Tyler’s weaving style takes from all his past textiles and also draws on his love of Germantown textiles and wedge weaving, and taking these elements and combining them in new ways, while keeping a feeling reminiscent to a time before the trading post era. Along with his love for old-style rugs, he also draws inspiration for the jewelry from old-style jewelry with turquoise or coral beads that would most likely be seen on a cheii or masani (grandpa or grandma.)
