“I left my work in criminal justice and pursued my life as an artist, first concentrating on painting, conquering skill and technique, mastering mediums, understanding my place with my imagery, who I was and what I stood for. I went on to explore printmaking forms, monotypes, stone lithography, etchings, silk-screening. I began sewing traditional dresses and shirts which I sold to people in my pueblo area. I took classes in jewelry and pottery and my mother helped me weave and taught me impeccability in tailoring, sewing and garment construction.”
