My technique consists of many layers of underpainting on board. I let it drink the paint in and paint over it and let the subtleties shine through after each slip because the color changes as it dries. I hand-cut my mats. I was one of the first artists to use multiple mats in my paintings so people will feel like they are looking through a window in time.
