My paintings depict the life ways of the Mvskoke (Creek) Nation. My family was very traditional, and we followed Creek customs. My art illustrates stories, medicine, culture, dress, and traditions that my people can recognize and relate to – natural things such as preparing food, hoeing the garden, or just reading a book. Sometimes I paint historic figures or contemporary subjects such as tribal elections. I also incorporate prehistoric Southeastern designs to show our cultural roots.
