George Concho

CLICK TO VISIT MY SITE

My name is George Concho Jr. from the Pueblo of Acoma. I was born in 1988 and my clans are big yellow corn and little roadrunner. I am the son of Carolyn Concho who is a well known Acoma potter herself. Growing up I was inspired by the way my mother was so creative and how much work she put into her pottery. At the age of 12, I started attending the Santa Fe Indian market in the youth division where I received a first place and a honorable mention award for a couple of my figurines. That is what motivated me to continue working with clay and the creativity I have with my imagination with my figurines.
