Betty J. Padilla

Hello! My name is Betty Padilla.

I am originally from the Great Navajo Nation. I now reside in Santa Clara Pueblo with my husband and 2 of my children.

I have always wanted to do jewelry work and finally had the opportunity to start taking classes at the POEH Cultural Center before retiring from Wal-Mart. While at POEH I had the honor of learning from one of the best in the jewelry business- Fritz Casuse. Also later from an expert in his own right- Eric Fender, along with other guest instructors.

During my time at POEH I have learned and perfected several different types of casting techniques, lapidary use, stone setting, and inlay work, just to name a few.

I have participated in SWAIA Indian Market, SWAIA Winter Market, SEEDS Market, HEARD Museum Market, Native Treasures, and POEH Cultural Center Show.

I am continuing working with my jewelry, that I love to do…..it is my passion!
