Designs of the Southwest are found in Anthony Gatewood’s exquisite silver and gold jewelry. He draws his inspiration from his culture and the landscape of his native home, Isleta Pueblo.
He began as an apprentice at age 16 under the mentorship of his renowned Uncle, Andy Lee Kirk. He has developed his own unique style by manipulating fine metals and natural stones in a way that represents the traditional elements of nature.
Anthony sees his creations from start to final buff. He casts and rolls his own silver and gold sheets, cuts the designs and sets the stones. The pieces are then buffed to an alluring finish many of which are topped off with his signature engraving styles. All his creations are unique. Every piece is a true collector’s item.
Some of the natural pallets of color Anthony brushes his creations with include cabs of natural stone of fine grade coral, turquoise, lapis sugilite and opal.
