My Caddo name, Tay Sha, means “Wolf” & “Friend”. Texas evolved from this word and being an OU grad, I’m not sure how I feel about this, but I endure.
I do Stonework art- Cultural art & Contemporary jewelry with engraving inspired by ancient Caddo/Spiro artifact designs. My cultural art honors Caddo lithics- axes, maces, effigies, etc. I use only hand tools on soapstone, pipestone & alabaster. My jewelry is mostly engraved pendant necklaces.
Besides enjoyment, I hope my art opens the eyes of Caddo youth to the beauty of their ancient art & inspires continuation of these arts.
